Morocco made World Cup history

There must be something in the Moroccan water that’s inspired the country’s great exploits in multiple sports this year.

The peak of the North African country’s powers is the men’s football team’s run at the 2022 World Cup.

The Moroccans captivated the rest of the world by topping a group with Croatia and Belgium and beating European giants, Spain and Portugal, on their way to becoming the first African team to play in a World Cup semi-final.

The Moroccans may not have advanced to the final or won the bronze medal, but they’ve shown that the African dream to win the World Cup isn’t as elusive as it used to be.

Other African countries must pay attention to whatever these North Africans are doing right.
