Libya recovers some stolen artefacts

Over the past decade, Libya has been damaged by war and unrest, but the North African country refuses to allow the unending stream of misfortune to be used as cover by anyone to steal its resources.

Libya’s recovery of two ancient artefacts stolen and auctioned in the United States proves the country isn’t playing with its art.

The U.S. authorities had initially confiscated the artefacts, valued at more than $500k, before handing them back to Libya.

Libya’s message is loud and clear — heritage is important and must be protected at all cost.
